TEFLON PROTECTION
Once your carpet or UPHOLSTERY is cleaned, you will want to protect it. The popularity of Teflon is largely due to the stain-resistant qualities it gives your carpet. Most people enjoy the confidence of knowing that if they spill something, it can be easily dabbed off the carpet or fabric with a damp sponge or cloth. Teflon can also add life to your furniture and carpets as well. By sealing the fibers, it can make vacuuming more effective.
When soil and dirt adhere to your carpet and fabrics, they act like an abrasive. Soil will actually wear the fibers as you walk and move on them. Teflon helps prevent the soil from becoming lodged in the fiber themselves, makes the soil and oils less apt to stick to the fibers, and makes it easier for a vacuum to clean them away.
For instance: If two brand-new nylon ropes were bought at the same time, but used differently, color differences would occur. If you left one rope outside, the sun would bleach it, algae and mold would discolor it. If the other was taken every day and rubbed with same hands with the same dirt for a year, the rope takes on the color of the dirt. No matter how much you wash it, at the end of the year the color would remain. The soil would be gone, but the color would not.
This is why heavy traffic areas seem to have a darker tint to them.. Even though soil can be removed, it may have already transferred color to the fibers. Protect your carpet and fibers from the elements by putting a barrier between the fibers and the soil.
